Has anyone else who'se read Twilight NOT like it? What is all the hype??
I am an avid fantasy reader and l tried this series last year and l did not
like it one bit. The main character Bella seems weak and vapid and always
in need of assistance from her strong, hansome vampire who'se only flaws
are that he sparkles in the sunlight and treats Bella like she is a glass
figurine. Worse, the second book features her pining away for her love and
she resorts to throwing herself off cliffs so she can hallucinate his voice
in her head. And that is basically the plot, with the addition of a wearwolf fighting with the vampire for her. Stepanie Meyer is not the first to write vampire romances, nor is she the most original. Her dull simple sentences bore me to death and the addition of ''complex'' adjectives from out of the blue seems like she picked up a thesaurus and chose the longest word. Her character descriptions conflict - Bella is described as plain and clumsy yet gets the attention of a vampire? /> Anyone agee? and what is your reasons? Disagree? please explain />
*cough cough*
I don't even wanna say anything.
Or else my fingers will start writing rapidly and who knows how dirty this
can get?
I agree, Twilight was not very good. There was so much teenage
worry . too many descriptions of how perfect the guy looked. Very cliche.

Totally, I read the first book over a year ago, and I didn't
really like it, it was my last recourse of a good book, but everyone keeps
saying read it again, read it again the other books are better, I might
eventually.
I totally agree with ur analysis of Bella; she is a sadly weak
& boring character, who is only defining feature is her intense love for
Edward.
Edward himself is quite a boring character, but I have more mixed feelings
about him. I think he is written as a Gary-Stu, the ideal boy that every
girl wants, & that is why everyone loves Twilight. They unconsciously place themselves in Bella is shoes, so that they are the one forever in love with an amazing, hot vampire, & they are in constant danger because of it. Edward is written in such a good light that I never blame Edward for loving Bella, it is always, ''Bella is such an idiot; Edward deserves better than her. Heck, Jacob deserves better than Bella!'' *cough* Twilight fans, read ''The Silver Kiss''. Bestseller vampire novel, with a doomed romance between an ordinary girl & a hot vampire. Sounds familiar? Guess when it was published? 1992. It even has a freaky person wandering around randomly killing people!
Hi! I love Twilight, but I am not going to be bitter about it
or anything. I will just tell you why.
I am pretty sure that you're supposed to get the impression that Bella is
weak & everything next to Edward. He is immortal & unbelieveably strong.
She is mortal & average. It only makes sense that she seems weak.
The only reason that Edward is described as flawless is that the book is written from Bella is point of view. I am sure his family could find something wrong with him, but it is from his girlfriend/fiancee is point of view (they get engaged in Eclipse), so it is bound to come across that way. Plus, like I said, he is immortal & immensely strong. He IS almost flawless, because that is just the way of the vampire. I have to agree with you on the second book. It is pretty emo. It is a very good book with a darker tang to it, though. I do know what you mean when you seem to be annoyed about how she can not get over this. I know how you feel. I did get kind of annoyed how it took her half a year before she could even stop being a zombie. I am kind of like, ''get over it & move on, girl''! I don't think she presented a good example for girls who are sad about breaking up. ''Oh, wallow in self-pity until they come back. That will work.'' I still liked it, though, because it is all very romantic. I haven't read any other vampire romances, so I can not comment on the unoriginal complaint. But, yes, I did notice that the writing wasn't as good as my other favorite series, Harry Potter. I didn't notice the complex adjectives or anything, though. As for Bella getting Edward is attention even though she is plain & clumsy- now, everything else I could tolerate. But don't you see? THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THE BOOK! She is so amazed that he loves her. That is why she believes him so easily when he lies in the second book & says he doesn't love her! She knows how crazy it is & no one understands why he loves her! Otherwise, I understand ur complaints. I hope I helped.
Yeahh.Bella is kind of weird.and Edward deserves better. But I
am completely in loveeeeeeeeeee with Edward! He is my fave fave faveeeee
charater!! =D
